This year I volunteered to create the art for the fundraiser at our school (Forest Trail Elementary, Eanes ISD) for 2 of my children's classes. There was an idea hiding among the cobwebs. I imagined flags made of handprints using batik on canvas. However, when revisiting the process in my planning, I knew it wasn't possible (can't dip little hands in hot wax...after the first one, the rest would go running...). After letting my thoughts simmer, I started sketching, and making lists. Then I dove in, made a sample, fine tuned my method, and went to the school for the final handprints. All of those little hands coming together to create art was really inspiring for me (no screaming at all). I will be making limited edition prints in the near future (available on this website). If you'd like to be one of the first to be notified of the release date, , follow me and I'll post when they're available. Enjoy!
